Signal transfer function (SiTF) – the curve that represents the output signal as function of the temperature of the black body source (input signal).
In this test the temperature differences between background and the blackbody is measured by using the half-Moon target. The results allows to define temperatures at which camera begins to simulate the signal and starts to saturate. This test is useful because:
- Shows temperature dynamic range of a camera.
- Defines correct parameters of other tests (noise, NETD…).
